Ex- NFL Player Antonio Brown Files Innocent Response in Attempted Murder Charges
Ex- National Football League wide receiver Antonio Brown is traveling to Miami to address an attempted murder charge connected with a gunfire that took place in May, as his counsel filing a innocent response on his behalf.
Correctional documents in Essex, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was discharged on Tuesday morning for his move to the state of Florida. Brown, among the most famous players in the National Football League, had waived extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being apprehended in Dubai.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an message that he has already lodged a formal innocent response to the murder attempt allegation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as soon as Wednesday morning for a bail session, Eiglarsh said.
Based on his apprehension document, Brown is alleged of seizing a pistol from a protection employee after a celebrity boxing event in May and discharging a couple of shots at a man he had confronted with previously. The claimed individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to authorities that one of the bullets touched his throat.
Eiglarsh said that Brown was simply safeguarding himself from Nantambu.
“The steps he was compelled to take were purely in self-defense against the reported person’s aggressive conduct. Brown was attacked that time and responded within his legal privilege to safeguard himself,” Eiglarsh stated.
Brown was not right away detained because originally officers did not recognize Nantambu as a victim. It wasn’t until later in May that Nantambu provided a complete account about the incident to authorities and pointed out Brown as the perpetrator, the document states.
According to his online content, Brown had been living in the city of Dubai for several months. In a post after the confrontation, Brown claimed he was protecting himself because he was “jumped by several people who sought to rob my jewelry and inflict physical injury to me.”
A category two attempted murder allegation in Florida bears a maximum 15-year jail sentence and up to a $10,000 penalty in the case of a conviction.
Brown has encountered several judicial challenges over the period. He previously had been alleged of physical attack of a delivery operator, multiple family violence allegations, failure to pay parental support and additional events.
During a recent contest with Tampa Bay against the opponents, Brown took off his jersey, equipment and gloves and exited the field, resulting in his dismissal by the team and virtually ending his football tenure.
